This Weekend

source

This weekend is homecoming in our area .  They actually  let the all the grades out of school, so they can go to the parade, football game, and dance.   We are just  going to see the game and hang with one of my friends.   We met a few weeks ago and he one of the  coaches  for the varsity football team.     Should be fun!  We had a really good time at the last game.

Going to games makes me think of my brothers games growing up.  He is nine years older  and I was about my daughters age.  I would have my own outfit , pom poms , and cheer  with the cheerleaders.  When I got bored I would  go on the field and hang with my brother.  Running up and down the side of the field probably driving my brother insane!

I have picked up my paint brush again and this is what happened!

Wheat Fields

I am so in love with the fact I can open up my house and smell the roses through my open windows.

I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Toad Lily

I have had the most horrible sleep patterns the past few days and everything is feeling a bit blurry.
I have a few canning recipes I want to share this weekend!  I will be tackling pickles, strawberry jam, apple and fig jam, and blueberry syrup!  I will most likely post two recipes a day to inspire (force) me to commit!

I am really excited to say my daughter is starting karate and I cannot wait to see her cute little self in her uniform .    She also decided on taking an art class on Mondays so she could  "create works of art"  as she puts it.  So adorable!

I hope your week is going well and now I am off to make some spider webs with my daughter for our porch.  I will show some pictures in a few days once we add the spider and his prey onto the web.  Sounds gross doesn't it?

This is my favorite time of year!  Here are some scenes around my house.  Some things happening are planting bulbs, canning, harvesting herbs, and  planting my beets.

Wim Delvoye

Don't you just love the detail on these tires?
Belgian artist Wim Delvoye created a series of decorative objects by hand-carving intricate patterns and floral motifs on used car tires. Through his manipulation of found objects, Delvoye transforms things that seem useful in everyday life into sculptural pieces that carry a different value from their original intended purpose.

Secret Garden

I need this in my yard.  A table set underneath with some hanging chandeliers, and candles.  Can you see it?

The Dallas trip went really well!  I met with a company that will be carrying some of my items in five stores!  Successful trip!

Lightbulbs Anyone?

Love this!  I get excited about anything that recycles things in interesting ways.
